Meningkatkan Prestasi Belajar IPA melalui Penerapan Metode Round Table pada Siswa Kelas VIII-B MTs NW Lenek 1

Abstract

The aim of this study is to determine the improvement in science learning achievement through the application of the round table method. The subjects of this study were 31 students of Class VIII-B at MTs. NW Lenek 1 for the academic year 2022/2023, consisting of 15 male students and 16 female students. The type of research used is Classroom Action Research (CAR), conducted over two cycles, each consisting of four continuous stages: (1) planning, (2) implementation, (3) observation, and (4) reflection. Data on learning activities were collected through observation, and data on student learning outcomes were gathered from evaluation tests conducted at the end of each cycle. These data were then analyzed using a scoring rubric and were further analyzed both qualitatively and quantitatively by the researcher. The performance indicators for this research are considered successful if each student participating in the test achieves a minimum score of 70 (KKM) and if at least 85% of the students reach this minimum score. Based on the research conducted over two cycles, the results show that in Cycle I, the learning outcomes had a classical completeness of 65% with an average score of 72.58, while in Cycle II, the learning outcomes had a classical completeness of 87% with an average score of 85.48. Thus, the use of the round table method can improve the science learning outcomes of Class VIII-B students at MTs. NW Lenek 1 for the academic year 2022/2023.
