Peran I’rab dalam Memahami Pesan Pendidikan dalam Hadis Nabi

Abstract

The ḥadīths of Prophet Muhammad (ṣallallāhu ʿalayhi wa sallam) are a primary source of Islamic teachings, rich in moral and spiritual educational messages. However, understanding the meanings embedded in ḥadīths heavily depends on mastery of the Arabic language, particularly its grammatical aspects such as iʿrāb. Iʿrāb refers to the system of inflectional endings in Arabic that indicate the syntactic function of words within a sentence. Misinterpretation of iʿrāb can lead to semantic distortion and result in incorrect interpretations of the educational values conveyed in the ḥadīths. This study aims to analyze the role of iʿrāb in uncovering educational meanings in the ḥadīths, employing a qualitative approach through a literature review method. The findings demonstrate that proficiency in iʿrāb not only supports linguistic accuracy in reading and understanding ḥadīths but also plays a crucial role in internalizing core Islamic educational values such as honesty, responsibility, and integrity. Therefore, mastery of iʿrāb is an essential component in ḥadīth studies and contributes directly to character formation within Islamic education.
