Abstract

Islamic Religious Education (PAI) plays a vital role in shaping students' religious character, including deaf students who face unique challenges in understanding abstract concepts like worship. This study aims to explore the strategies employed by PAI teachers in teaching worship concepts to deaf students at SLB Negeri 1 Bantul. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation involving PAI teachers. Thematic analysis was applied to identify effective teaching strategies. The findings reveal that visual approaches, experiential learning, individualized adjustments, and routine habituation are the primary strategies implemented. Teachers utilize visual media such as images and videos, along with direct practice, to explain prayer movements and worship concepts. Additionally, routine congregational prayers and positive reinforcement effectively enhance students' understanding and motivation. This study concludes that teaching strategies tailored to individual needs and supported by visual media enable deaf students to comprehend worship concepts more effectively.
