Abstract

The purpose of this study was to find out the teacher's strategy in overcoming the moral degradation of students in the digital era at the Muhammadiyah 1 SMA Muhammadiyah 1 Unismuh Makassar school. The moral degradation that occurred at the Muhammadiyah 1 Unismuh Makassar High School was not yet in the fatal category, and the development of smartphone technology became something that could not be avoided. The research method used is qualitative research. Qualitative method is a research procedure that produces descriptive data in the form of written or spoken words from people and observed behavior. The type of research, namely library research, is a literature review, which comes from books, web, journals, Google Scholar. The informants of this study were student teachers at SMA Muhammadiyah 1 Unismuh Makassar. Data collection techniques are carried out through two sources, namely primary data and secondary data. The data analysis carried out is data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. Moral degradation is a moral decline that occurs among children or students. The sophistication of smartphone technology in the digital era has positive and negative impacts. The positive impact of today's digital era can enable us to have friends from all over the world just by using a smartphone. Then the negative impact is that it makes children's morale decrease due to content that is not suitable for viewing at their age. The results of the research from the Teacher's Strategy in Overcoming the Moral Degradation of Students in the Digital Era at the Muhammadiyah 1 Unismuh Makassar High School School, it can be concluded that the efforts of the teacher as an educator in overcoming the moral degradation that occurs, namely by implementing 5S; namely smile, greeting, greeting, polite, courteous. So that students can be polite and courteous when interacting with friends or older people with them.
