Abstract

This study aims to investigate the effect of implementing the Somatis Auditori Visual Intelectual (SAVI) learning model on mathematics learning outcomes and students’ critical thinking skills at SD Negeri 1 Montong Beter in the 2024/2025 academic year. A quantitative method was employed, with data collected through observation and essay tests. The observation results regarding learning implementation showed that the experimental class achieved a score of 78%, categorized as good, while the control class scored 55%, categorized as fair. Test results indicated that students in the experimental class achieved scores in the range of > 75.005, classified as highly critical thinkers. In contrast, students in the control class scored within the range of 58.335 < K < 75.005, falling into the critical thinking category. Hypothesis testing using a t-test revealed a t value of 9.17, which exceeds the critical value of 1.6788 (df = 48, α = 0.05), leading to the rejection of the null hypothesis and acceptance of the alternative hypothesis. Therefore, it can be concluded that the application of the SAVI learning model has a significant effect on students’ mathematics learning outcomes and critical thinking skills. These findings suggest that multisensory-based learning approaches such as SAVI can enhance the effectiveness of the learning process and improve students’ cognitive quality.
