The background of this research lies in the persistent misunderstanding that positions Islam Nusantara as a new school or sect, as well as the limited understanding of the strategic role of Muhammadiyah’s Islam Berkemajuan in national dynamics. The study aims to analyze the characteristics, intellectual foundations, and implications of these two concepts for Islamic and national life. The method used is a literature review with a qualitative–descriptive approach, involving the collection and analysis of relevant books, scholarly articles, official documents, and credible online sources. The findings show that Islam Nusantara is not a new school, sect, or denomination, but rather a typology of Islamic practice that is contextual, dynamic, and attuned to the cultural plurality of the Indonesian archipelago. Meanwhile, Muhammadiyah’s Islam Berkemajuan emphasizes the role of Islam as a reformist force that promotes enlightenment of the ummah, social progress, and civilizational development. The study concludes that both concepts make important contributions to strengthening Islamic moderation in Indonesia and provide normative and practical frameworks for the development of dakwah that is inclusive, dialogical, and oriented toward civilizational advancement.
2026-02-06T08:34:29+00:00##submission.copyrightStatement##http://www.ejournal.stitpn.ac.id/index.php/pandawa/article/view/6099Desain Dakwah Tongkrongan Hijrah Pekanbaru2026-02-25T09:27:58+00:00Nurhadi Nurhadi[email protected]
Da’wah is the process of conveying religious values to all segments of society, those who do not yet adhere to a religion, non-Muslims, and Muslims themselves, within a framework of mutual reminder in truth and patience through sound and correct religious education. In Pekanbaru City, where the Muslim population is heterogeneous and comes from diverse regions and ethnic backgrounds, the need for da’wah communities that work in synergy with the local government has become increasingly urgent in order to continuously guide and serve the ummah. One of the da’wah communities that has attracted the attention of the Pekanbaru Municipal Government among young people is the Tongkrongan Hijrah da’wah community operating under the Jaringan Pemuda Remaja Masjid Indonesia (JPRMI), which adopts an approach based on ngopi (coffee gatherings) or nongkrong (hanging out) to discuss positive issues related to the spiritual and social future of young people. This article aims to describe the da’wah design of this community, characterized by a relaxed, dialogical, humorous, interactive, and solution-oriented style—and to examine how the formats and themes of their study sessions, such as “Pesawat Kertas,” “Aku dari Masa Depan,” “Boleh Kamu Keliling Dunia,” “On The Way Ramadhan,” and “Nungguin Bedug,” are philosophically, argumentatively, and communicatively packaged by preachers such as Ustadz Nurhadi and other young da’i to address the spiritual needs of youth who are in the process of or have embarked on hijrah. The conceptual findings indicate that a tongkrongan-based da’wah design is capable of producing patterns of religious communication that are closely aligned with popular culture yet remain religiously grounded and syar’i, thereby making it relevant in supporting the self-transformation of young Muslim men and women toward a better life in this world and the hereafter.
2026-02-25T09:27:58+00:00##submission.copyrightStatement##http://www.ejournal.stitpn.ac.id/index.php/pandawa/article/view/6188Internalisasi Nilai-Nilai Akhlak dalam Pendidikan Islam melalui Pendekatan Keteladanan2026-05-01T12:17:26+00:00Marzuqi Marzuqi[email protected]Badrus Shalih[email protected]
The internalization of moral values in Islamic education faces increasingly complex challenges in the digital era, particularly regarding the erosion of moral values and the diminishing presence of authentic role models among the younger generation. This study aimed to examine the process of internalizing moral values through an exemplary approach, map the obstacles to its implementation, and formulate strategies to strengthen its application in the context of contemporary Islamic education. This study used a qualitative method based on library research with descriptive-analytical analysis of relevant literature sources. The results showed that the exemplary approach has significant capacity to internalize moral values because it is able to present moral values in concrete forms that can be directly observed and emulated by students. However, its implementation still faces several obstacles, including inconsistency in educators’ attitudes and behavior, weak institutional culture, and the strong influence of digital media on character formation. These findings confirm the need to integrate the exemplary approach comprehensively and systemically into the curriculum, school culture, and everyday learning practices. This study provides a conceptual contribution to strengthening the paradigm of Islamic education that positions moral formation as its main orientation through an integrative, contextual, and relevant approach to the dynamics of modern society.
2026-05-01T12:17:26+00:00##submission.copyrightStatement##http://www.ejournal.stitpn.ac.id/index.php/pandawa/article/view/6280Implementasi Model Pembelajaran Understanding by Design (UbD) dalam Internalisasi Nilai Pada Mata Pelajaran Akidah Akhlak: Sebuah Systematic Literature Review2026-05-23T00:38:03+00:00Hasmi Nur Bayhaqi[email protected]Irma Soraya[email protected]
Akidah Akhlak learning faces a structural challenge in the form of the dominance of cognitive orientation, which reduces learning to mastery of material and memorization, thereby creating a systemic gap between students’ knowledge and their actual behavior. Although various learning innovations have been developed, most remain partial and have not been grounded in a comprehensive instructional design framework. This study aims to examine the implementation of Understanding by Design (UbD) principles in Akidah Akhlak learning through a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach. This study used the PRISMA 2020 guidelines through the stages of identification, screening, eligibility, and inclusion of articles sourced from Google Scholar, Scopus, DOAJ, Garuda, and SINTA. Of the 36 articles identified, 14 articles were analyzed using thematic analysis techniques. The review findings revealed three main findings. First, Akidah Akhlak learning is consistently still dominated by a cognitive orientation that produces a knowing-doing gap across educational levels and cannot be addressed merely through partial changes in teaching methods. Second, contextual, reflective, and experiential learning practices that have developed in the field have characteristics aligned with UbD principles, but they have not yet been systematized within a coherent design framework. Third, the five UbD principles, namely backward design, enduring understanding, transfer learning, authentic assessment, and meaningful learning, are already implicitly present in the pedagogical tradition of Akidah Akhlak and can be developed as an explicit systematization framework. The conclusion of this study affirms that UbD has the potential to serve as an instructional design framework capable of shifting the orientation of Akidah Akhlak from mastery of material toward understanding that is transformed into character. This review provides a theoretical contribution by expanding the construct of enduring understanding with spiritual and transcendental dimensions in the context of Islamic education, as well as practical contributions for teachers, curriculum developers, and educational institutions in designing behavior-based authentic assessments and building a coherent learning ecosystem.
2026-05-23T00:38:03+00:00##submission.copyrightStatement##http://www.ejournal.stitpn.ac.id/index.php/pandawa/article/view/6228Eksistensi Surau dalam Membentuk Tradisi Pendidikan Islam di Minangkabau Pra Abad 202026-05-23T11:45:46+00:00Ihda Mujahidah[email protected]Risma Afivah[email protected]Syarifah Nadia[email protected]Sutrimo Purnomo[email protected]
Islamic education in Indonesia has a long history and has developed in line with the social and cultural dynamics of society. One traditional Islamic educational institution that played an important role before the 20th century was the surau, particularly in the Minangkabau region of West Sumatra. This study aims to examine the definition, origins, functions, and roles of figures in the development of the surau as a traditional Islamic educational institution. This study employed a qualitative approach with a library research design through the examination of various relevant literature sources. The review results show that the surau was initially a place for spiritual activities influenced by local traditions and later developed into an Islamic educational institution after the process of Islamization in Minangkabau. In its development, the surau functioned not only as a place of worship but also as a center for religious education, moral development, and community social activities. The surau played an important role in producing ulama and religious figures, such as Syekh Burhanuddin, who contributed to the spread of Islam in the Indonesian archipelago. In addition, the surau became a place for youth development and a center of social interaction for Minangkabau society before the development of the modern Islamic education system in Indonesia. The conclusion of this study affirms that the surau has historical, religious, and social contributions to shaping the tradition of Islamic education in Minangkabau. These findings contribute to the development of studies on the history of Islamic education and broaden understanding of the role of traditional Islamic educational institutions in local communities.
2026-05-23T11:45:46+00:00##submission.copyrightStatement##
